Humayun's Tomb - Mesmerizing Mughal Beauty

After Qutb Minar, I reached to my next destination. Hymanus' tomb. Unesco world heritage site. Another excellent and mesmerizing mughal architectural beauty. Its set in beautiful garden, the red sandstone monument is prototype for the Taj, After a century from its construction Humayun’s tomb inspired the construction of the more famous Taj Mahal. One of the best preserved Mughal monuments.

It was built by Humayun’s widow, Hamida Banu Begum. The architecture of the tomb is strongly influenced by Persian architecture in the center of a Persian-style chaharbagh garden with quadrilateral form. The garden, divided in four main parts by walkways or flowing water . These four main parts on their turn are separated by channels to 36 parts.
